FAQ
REACTIV lenses are photochromic and adjust to changing light conditions by getting lighter or darker depending on the amount of UV light present. REACTIV lenses are made of NXT (Trivex), which has the clarity of glass and exceptional durability and impact resistance.
SPECTRON lenses are not photochromic and will not lighten or darken. SPECTRON lenses are made of polycarbonate, which is shatter resistant, and are a versatile lens suitable for all types of activities.
Visible Light Transmission (VLT) refers to the percentage of light that filters through a lens—the higher the number, the more light passes through. A window in a home, for example, might have a VLT of around 70%, allowing most visible light to pass through while filtering enough to keep your sofa from getting bleached. A typical goggle lens, like a home’s window, has a fixed VLT—the amount of light it lets through and blocks out remains the same, no matter how bright or dark it is outside.
The VLT of Julbo’s REACTIV lenses, on the other hand, changes as ambient light changes. The new REACTIV 0-4 lens, which has the widest VLT range of any photochromic lens on the market, has a range of 83 to 5%. In other words, just 5% of visible light filters through the lens under extremely bright conditions, allowing for ultimate protection. Conversely, 83% of visible light filters through when it's dark out, allowing for total clarity. Regardless of VLT, REACTIV lenses filter 100% of harmful UVA, B, and C light.

Good lenses and peripheral protection. Light weight and stay in place in high wind.
Caveat- sizes are on the small side. The Large are closer to medium, so go up one size.

My first pair of these were given to me by Roberto at Climb High (the importer at the time) in Shelburne Vermont. I was a local climber with designs on the greater ranges, and Climb High was very generous in supporting my passion with the occasional gift of gear. I have since worn the Vermont Classic around the world. Literally.
Climbing, and my job as a Merchant Seaman, has taken me around the world over the years, and these glasses, refit with prescription lenses, have been a constant companion. I can climb in them, Snowboard in them, work in the intense sun of the open Ocean or glaciers at altitude. I drive across the US several times a year and they are perfect for the sun in your face and the wind in your hair. I have given dozens of pairs away as gifts, occasionally to people I didn't even know (I save the non-prescription lenses for just this purpose).
To be completely honest, I don't want these to become popular because that can often ruin a good thing. But they really are a pretty damn good pair of goggles. Thanks Julbo!

Good coverage and darkness. The ear pieces have a lot less springiness than the last pair of Jublos I bought about 30 (25?) years ago.

In the beginning, I was skeptical of these glasses performance, but since I after for the old school look I decided to pick these up. After my first trek through some snow I realized just how well they block the light, yet they still manage to not fog up despite the leather sides. I really would recommend to anyone. Even the ear hooks are very comfortable and don't cause any headaches. Customer service was also on point when I needed to have some of the leather parts replaced.
