FREERIDE SKIING - 25 YEARS OLD

“VERY FEW DAYS GO BY WITHOUT SKIING OR THE MOUNTAINS OCCUPYING A CENTRAL PLACE IN MY THOUGHTS."
DREAMS DO COME TRUE

“I guess you could say that I really had no choice but to organize my life around skiing. Of everything I've tried, nothing comes close to the feeling of hurtling down a mountain covered in a nice layer of snow...even maybe flying a bit during the descent. This feeling is incomparable. »

Konstantin (“Konsti”, as the friendly German presents himself), grew up in the Bavarian Allgäu, not far from Innsbruck, the Austrian freeride capital, which has now become his home. The reason for moving to the Alps is “  To really live in the mountains ”. In 2018, while working in a ski school to support himself and finance his love of the mountains, the young man – 20 years old at the time – joined the Freeride World Tour thanks to his memorable runs on the FWQ Qualifier Tour.

FROM SKI INSTRUCTOR TO THE WORLD TOUR AND BEYOND

“It was an intense, extraordinary period, a great way to ski and be in the mountains every day while earning a living. On the other hand, on powder days it was hard. But I still learned a lot from contact with the young people I was teaching. There's nothing better than playing with relief and having fun doing it."

With his playful, yet extremely fast approach, Konsti made a name for himself on the World Tour and was offered international film projects despite not being able to complete for two consecutive seasons of Freeride World Tour due to injuries.

“The successive injuries prevented me from obtaining good results on the World Tour, but the moments when I could neither ski nor even walk made me realize even more how much I loved being in the mountains and going to adventure, and that I wanted to spend there every day, whether it was for a competition, a shoot or simply a skiing session with friends, in the best possible way. »

WHAT DOES THE FUTURE HOLD?

“My fascination for the unusual and the adventure had already grown during my trips within the framework of the World Tour and it grew even more with the film projects. I hope that the future holds many adventures in exceptional places and many discoveries and happy encounters with many different people. That's another aspect of skiing that I love...it brings people together."
