Some relationships seem inevitable, almost destined. Like the grandeur of the mountains, like the greatest performances, they require time, consistency and commitment.

The partnership between Julbo and Kilian Jornet was born this way.

Over time.

Naturally.

A person wearing sunglasses and a dark shirt stands against a white background, with their face partially shadowed and head slightly bowed. A person in a dark long-sleeve shirt stands against a white background wearing futuristic glowing glasses, with their face partially obscured by shadows.

Since January 1st, 2026, Kilian Jornet has officially been part of the Julbo team. A natural outcome for a relationship that dates back to the early 2000s, long before his name became an absolute reference in the outdoor world and before he left his mark on every race he took part in, every mountain he climbed.

Kilian Jornet grew up in the mountains, in the Catalan Pyrenees, in a high-altitude refuge run by his parents. From a very young age, he evolved in alpine terrain, summer and winter alike, wearing his first glacier sunglasses.

As early as 2011, during his years at the highest level of ski mountaineering with FEDME, Kilian Jornet chose the Aerolite, one of the first mono-lens photochromic frames developed by Julbo. At the time, this model embodied a new approach to equipment—lightweight and streamlined—aligned with the rise of fast & light that Kilian helped drive by reducing his gear to the bare minimum.

This was followed by Kilian Jornet’s most iconic projects: one of his ascents of Everest, then more recently Alpine Connections across the Alps, and States of Elevation, a monumental project linking the highest summits of the United States on foot and by bike.

Never losing sight of one another, Julbo and Kilian Jornet move forward in parallel, driven by a shared vision of the mountains and commitment.

The association between Julbo and Kilian Jornet goes far beyond a simple sports partnership. Starting this year, a “Kilian Jornet Series” collection will be available from March.

From this collaboration will then emerge, in the years to come, products capable of going beyond what exists today, meeting the demands of the most committed outdoor athletes.
