“Julbo is growing their community in mountain biking, and I’m proud to be part of that process,” says Haley, who earned a bronze medal in last August’s 2022 UCI Mountain Bike World Championships in Les Gets, France. “I’m looking forward to what we can accomplish in the upcoming seasons.”
Haley is a two-time U.S. National Champion and one-time Olympian whose professional racing career began in 2016 when she joined the Luna Pro Cycling Team. She earned her first stars-and-stripes jersey the year prior as a junior and her second in 2017 as a U23 athlete on Team Clif Bar.
Haley won her first World Cup in 2019 as a U23 in Nové Město, Czech Republic, and earned her first elite World Cup victory in the same location in 2021 in short track. That same year she placed ninth in the Tokyo Olympic Games as one of three female XCO athletes representing Team USA.
Haley’s major focus in 2023 and 2024 is the upcoming Olympic Games in Paris. “I will use this year to prepare for the qualification period and test my training plan, equipment and mindset with that goal in mind,” she says. “Each year I have made progress as an elite rider, and I am looking forward to what I can accomplish next alongside all of the amazing people and brands that I have on my team.”
Currently in Squamish, British Columbia, attending Quest University Canada, Haley is mixing up her training before kicking off her race season later this month. “In the winter I love to add a lot of variety to my training,” she says. “I mix it up with cross-country skiing, indoor cycling workouts, and technical riding in the muddy conditions. I believe that developing a variety of skillsets is very beneficial for becoming a better athlete.”
Haley has been wearing the Julbo Density throughout the winter and is excited to race in this new style. “I really love the shape of the frame, custom fit on the temples and variety of lenses,” she says. “My top choice right now is the REACTIV 1-3 Light Amplifier lens, since it has a nice, almost clear/yellow-ish tint that brightens up the dark forest trails on winter days. They are pretty stylist too!”
