Racing the Unknown: How Ian Boswell Tackles Unbound Gravel

When Ian Boswell lined up at the start of last year’s Unbound Gravel 200 in Emporia, Kansas, he didn’t know what to expect. “I’d never done the race before; I’d never done a race that long; there were a lot of unknowns,” the former World Tour cyclist says. “I kept my expectations low but knew I was riding well but just didn’t know how I’d hold up over 10-plus hours.”

Two hundred and five miles later, Ian beat Dutchman and fellow former World Tour cyclist Laurens Ten Dam in a two-up sprint, winning North America’s biggest bike race.
