Sunglasses that offer protection and security are a must-have in the mountains. The Montebianco 2 and Monterosa 2 are a modern take on classic mountaineering sunglasses, packed with functionality and style to tackle any adventure.
But what’s the difference between the two?
The Montebianco 2 is a modern take on classic mountaineering sunglasses. With a lightweight polycarbonate frame and full coverage, this style brings comfort and protection to a new level.
The Frame: The Montebianco 2’s polycarbonate frame offers large wrap-around coverage, perfect for any mountain condition. The fit is slightly larger than the Monterosa 2, making it ideal for those with medium-to-large faces or those seeking maximum coverage.
Curved temples equipped with Grip Tech and Nose Grip technology provide a comfortable fit that’s secure against the demands of moving through the mountains.
Like the Monterosa 2, the Montebianco comes with removable side shields to provide additional protection from the elements.
A silicone accessory cord is also included with both the Montebianco 2 and Monterosa 2 to keep them close when the situation gets tricky.
Lenses: The Montebianco 2 is available with polycarbonate Spectron lenses or REACTIV Photochromic lenses.
Spectron lenses are designed to offer powerful protection for mountain trekking and mountaineering, with an anti-reflective coating to improve visual comfort and a flash finish that improves the filtration of visible light. The Spectron 3 Polarized lens offers additional protection from glare and reflected light.
REACTIV Photochromic lenses adjust from light to dark depending on light levels, making them ideal for constantly changing conditions. They combine the advantages of mineral and polycarbonate lenses: optical quality, scratch resistance, strength and lightness. In addition, their NTS (Non-Temperature Sensitive) technology guarantees a constant photochromic range and fast transition time, whatever the temperature.
