Returns

What is the return policy?

We offer 30 day returns from the delivery date. Items must be returned in their original condition and within the 30 day return window.

Is there a return fee?

We charge a $10 return shipping fee on all orders. We can waive this fee if the product arrived defective or damaged. If that is the case, please email info@julbousa.com with images of the issue.

Can I cancel or change my order after it is placed?

We are unable to edit orders or cancel your order. Our team works very hard to ship orders as quickly as possible. Once you receive your order, you can process a return for a refund.

Can I change my shipping address or payment method after my order is placed?

We are unable to edit orders or payment methods once an order is placed. Any further questions, please contact our customer service team at info@julbousa.com.

What is the exchange policy?

We do not process exchanges. Since our system is not set up for exchanges, the easiest way to process an exchange is to process a return and place a new order.

Our return policy can be found here on our website. If you'd like to initiate a return, please follow the link and click "START YOUR RETURN HERE".

How long does it take to process a return and receive a refund?

Returns should be processed in about 10 business days. It usually takes about a week to get the item delivered back to our warehouse and our team processes returns throughout the week. Once our team has inspected your item and has fully processed the return, the refund should hit your bank account in 1-3 business days depending on your financial institution.

Can I return my item to a store?

No, please use our return portal on the website to process a return. Local retailers are unable to process a return and refund for orders purchased on our website. If you have bought your item from a local retailer, you should return the item to that store.

How do I request a return label?

After you submit your return through our website, a return shipping label will be generated and sent to your email. If you are unable to find it, please check your spam or junk folder. We can not process returns that are not submitted through our return portal.

Can I include multiple returns in the same package?

Yes, you may. Please reach out to info@julbousa.com with the order numbers and items that you are returning. This way, we can inform our team and facilitate the return process.

Can I return an international order?

We are JulboUSA and we can not accept returns of items purchased from outside the US. We are only able to accept returns from orders placed on Julbo.Us.

Do we offer repairs?

We are not able to perform any repairs.  We do have many spare parts available to keep your Julbo’s in good working condition, and in nearly all cases repairs are straightforward and can be done yourself.

Warranty

What is your warranty policy?

Since 1888, Julbo has built gear to keep up with a lifetime of adventure—and we proudly stand behind every pair. Our Lifetime Warranty covers your sunglasses frames for the lifetime of the product and guarantees against all manufacturing defects.

If something that’s our fault goes wrong, we’ll replace the necessary parts (temples, lenses, frames, frame fronts, side shields, nose covers) at no cost. Examples of manufacturer defects include parts that arrive warped or damaged, premature failure, or delamination. We do not cover damage from misuse, abuse, or lost glasses or parts.

Restrictions:

  • Frames that have been intentionally altered, painted, heat treated, or modified in any way are not covered.
  • Frames installed with non-Julbo custom or prescription lenses are not covered.
  • This warranty applies to residents of the United States.

Discontinued Styles: If your model is no longer in production and we don’t have the parts available, we’ll offer a free replacement pair of equal or lesser value.

Upgrades: Want to trade up to a newer style? We can do that too—an upcharge will apply.

Do we offer a warranty for REACTIV lenses?

Julbo REACTIV photochromic lenses are guaranteed to never stop transitioning. If your REACTIV lenses fail to perform, send them back and we’ll replace them—giving you full confidence in your high-performance lenses for any adventure.

Our warranty doesn’t cover accidental damage from everyday mishaps (like getting run over by your car), intentional abuse, or lost sunglasses—but tell us your lost-sunglasses story anyway. If it’s a good one, we’ll do our best to help you out (bonus points for epic adventures!).

Do we offer a warranty for wear and tear?

We don’t replace frames for superficial damage, paint scuffs, or everyday wear and tear. If your sunglasses are still fully wearable, we’d rather keep them out of a landfill—those scratches and scuffs are just the badges of honor from your adventures. Click here to check out our spare parts if you want to freshen up your pair.

But if something breaks because of a manufacturer defect, you’re covered by our Lifetime Warranty.

Julbo reserves the right to determine what qualifies as a warranty claim—but share the story behind the damage and we’ll always do our best to help. A great tale of epic days outside might just tip the scales in your favor.

If I damage my lenses can i warranty them?

Julbo lenses are engineered to withstand the toughest conditions and perform at the highest level—but even the strongest lenses can show scratches over time from real-world adventures. For this reason, superficial damage to lenses are not covered under our Lifetime Warranty.

We do, however, stand behind our lenses against manufacturing defects, including delamination, coating failure, or lenses coming apart. If you experience one of these issues, submit a claim and we’ll take care of it.

How do i start a warranty claim?

Lens Technology

What does photochromic mean?

Photochromic lenses adjust to changing light conditions by getting lighter or darker depending on the amount of UV light present. The more UV light—or the brighter the conditions—the darker the lens becomes, and vice versa. Julbo calls its photochromic technology REACTIV. Please note that these lenses will not change behind a car windshield as the windshield block UV rays.

REACTIV photochromic technology is helpful when the weather change, if you're recreating early or late in the day or if you're in and out of the woods frequently. Since the lenses change how light and dark they are, don't need to switch from one lens to another or take off your sunglasses/goggles as conditions change.

Julbo offers a variety of REACTIV photochromic lenses.
Read more about REACTIV photochromic technology here.

What is the difference between REACTIV and SPECTRON lenses?

REACTIV lenses are photochromic and adjust to changing light conditions by getting lighter or darker depending on the amount of UV light present. REACTIV lenses are made of NXT (Trivex), which has the clarity of glass and exceptional durability and impact resistance.

SPECTRON lenses are not photochromic and will not lighten or darken. SPECTRON lenses are made of polycarbonate, which is shatter resistant, and are a versatile lens suitable for all types of activities.

The "category", or "protection index" will tell you how much visible light a lens blocks. That is displayed with a number between zero and four. Spectron 0 is clear and Spectron 4 are super dark, blocking 95% of visible light.

Are Julbo lenses polarized?

Julbo offers both polarized and non-polarized lenses. Various REACTIV and SPECTRON lenses are available with and without polarization. Polarized lenses will be denoted "polarized" in the product description.

Julbo carries one photochromic polarized lenses: REACTIV 2-4 Polarized, which allows for 20-5% Visible Light Transmission (VLT) and is best for the brightest high-mountain settings.

Julbo also carries one polarized polycarbonate lens: SPECTRON 3 Polarized, which allows for 12% Visible Light Transmission and is best for bright conditions.

Read more about the benefits of polarized lenses here.

What does High Contrast and Light Amplifier mean? Whats the difference?

High Contrast means the lens has a rose tint and rose base color, designed to enhance contrast. Hight Contrast (rose/red) tints are ideal for situations with varied terrain in low light, for example snowy, flat light or during poor weather. We offer three Reactiv High Contrast lenses: Reactiv 0-3, Reactiv 1-3 and Reactiv 0-4.

Light Amplifier lenses feature a yellow tint and yellow base color, specifically designed to enhance brightness by increasing light receptivity. These lenses are ideal for low-light conditions, such as overcast days, dawn or dusk outings, or shaded environments like wooded trails on sunny days. With these lenses, you may not realize how dark your surroundings truly are until you remove your sunglasses—perfect for maximizing visibility in dim conditions. However, depending on your light sensitivity, this lens may not darken enough for prolonged exposure in full sun. We offer one Light Amplifier lens: Reactiv 1-3 Light Amplifier.

What is the different between Reactiv 0-3 and Reactiv 0-3 High Contrast?

The Reactiv 0-3 and Reactiv 0-3 High Contrast are both great lens options for optimal performance in versatile environments.

The Reactiv 0-3 lens has a gray base and a VLT range of 87% to 12%. This lens is great for true color perception and everyday use. This lens is also optimal for water sports and everyday wear.

The Reactiv 0-3 High Contrast lens has a rose/red base and a VLT range of 87% to 12%. This lens is ideal for enhanced contrast and depth perception. This lens is best for trail running, hiking, and variable terrain, Conditions where you want boosted definition (e.g., forest, mountains, mixed light).

How do I clean my Julbo lenses?

Use a soft microfiber cloth or other non-abrasive material. Start by gently washing the frame and lens in soapy water, then rinse with clean water and wipe away any remaining moisture.

Avoid using solvents, chemical cleaners, paper-based products, gloves or other abrasive materials that may permanently damage the lens. Do not wipe lenses while there is dirt or debris on them.

Once you’ve finished cleaning, let the lens and frame air dry before putting them away. Avoid leaving them in direct sunlight or next to a heat source, as this may cause damage to the frame or lens. Always remember to store your sunglasses in their microfiber case/pouch.

Do Julbo lenses protect from UV?

Yes. All Julbo lenses provide 100% protection from UV A, B and C rays.

Sizing and Fit

What is lens size, base, temple length, distance and lens depth?

These are measurements for the sunglass frame found above the product description labeled "Size Chart". Here, you can find the dimensions of our products. All measurements are in millimeters.

Lens size is the width of the lens.

Base is the curvature of the lens. A base of eight has the most curve, meaning it will wrap around more.

Temple length is the length of the arm from where it is attached to the frame to the tip, back behind the ear.

Distance is the width of the bridge (between the lenses).

Lens depth is the height of the lens, top to bottom.

Is there a size guide?

Our size chart can be found above the product description labeled "Size Chart".

Please be aware that sizing may feel different between models due to variations in lens curvature, lens dimensions, and frame width. Our size chart is a helpful guide, but individual fit may vary.

What goggle size should I buy?

Our recommendation for goggles is to go by helmet size. If you wear a small helmet, I'd recommend looking at our small or medium sized goggles. If you wear a medium or large helmet, then I'd recommend a large or extra large goggle. This will help ensure there is no goggle gap or pressure on the nose.

Prescription Eyewear

How do I order prescription Julbo lenses?

Yes! You can check out our prescription sunglass models on JulboRx.com. We offer a variety of frame styles with unifocal and progressive options. The Julbo RX lab is located in France so it usually takes 5-8 weeks from the time the order is submitted to when it arrives at your door.

We do not offer the Vermont Classic or Cham models in prescription form. If you are interested in these styles, or if our lab is unable to accommodate your prescription, we recommend visiting opticus.com or sportrx.com. While the lenses will not be Julbo-branded, both providers offer high-quality prescription options and do an excellent job.

For more info on JulboRx.com, we recommend checking out our Rx FAQ here.

What is the Julbo RX Lab prescription eyewear warranty?

Julbo Rx Lab prescription eyewear has a limited two-year warranty from the date of purchase for any manufacturing defect regarding special lens coatings, lens treatments or frame breakage due to material or defective workmanship. All warranty claims must be handled directly through the original dealer.

If you purchased your eyewear from Julbo USA, please reach out to us. We stand by our products and, if you are not completely satisfied, we will work with you to determine the best solution.

Please note: The Julbo RX Lab warranty does not cover scratched lenses or breakage caused by wear and tear. Julbo frames installed with non-Julbo custom or prescription lenses are not covered under warranty. This warranty extends only to residents of the United States.

I own a pair of Julbo sunglasses. Can I purchase a set of Julbo Rx prescription lenses for them?

Unfortunately, this is not something that we can do.

Our Julbo Rx Lab prescription sunglasses are made in a specialized optical lab at Julbo France. The prescription lenses are custom-made to fit each individual frame, and a major part of the process involves properly fitting the Rx lenses into the frame.

If you have a Julbo frame that is in decent condition that you wish to use for prescription, we recommend asking your local optometrist if they can do that at their lab. We also work closely with opticus.com or sportrx.com, and they might be able to help.

Will insurance cover my Julbo Rx Lab purchase?

Julbo does not accept insurance. We accept all major credit cards, but HSA cards will often be declined when we attempt to authorize the payment. Customers can sometimes be reimbursed for their RX order from their insurance provider afterward. If you are interested in an itemized receipt, please email info@julbousa.com.

We suggest you discuss this with your insurance carrier in advance. If they need more information, they can call us at (800) 651-0833.

Sustainability

What is Julbo doing in the area of sustainable production?

Julbo is taking major steps to increase sustainability in our products, production methods, packaging and more. Additionally, we're actively researching sustainable materials that maintain the quality and safety of our products, while continuing to offer lifetime guarantees and spare parts to maintain repairability.

Julbo is committed to using innovative, non-petroleum-based and bio-sourced materials where possible in our product, as well as recycled materials. As of December 2023, over 75% of our sunglasses frames were made from RILSAN®, the castor-oil-based bio-sourced material. Goggle frames incorporate other bio materials, and goggles straps increasingly are made from recycled materials, including fishing nets. Spare parts exist for the majority of our in-line products; our REACTIV photochromic lenses are guaranteed for life; and the parts from products returned for warranty or otherwise deemed unsellable are separated and recycled as applicable.

Packaging is designed to be as "monomaterial" as possible to increase recyclability—inks are water-based, and varnishes, glues or plastic windows are no longer used. Carton sizes are optimized for material reduction, and packaging is primarily made in France.

Production is ahead of the curve in terms of sustainability. Our factory in Romania utilizes geothermal heat and solar power and undergoes regular energy audits. Most offcuts are collected and recycled. Through pre-season sales, sample reduction and production in our own European factory, we can ensure quantities produced are the closes possible to the market's needs to avoid overproduction. Water used during the production process is fully recycled and re-used.

Is it possible to recycle helmets/goggles and make new ones from them, as is already done with ski boots?

Unfortunately, due to the materials used and the process of gluing parts together, this is not possible and there is not yet an organized channel for recycling helmet and goggle plastics into new products. Furthermore, safety standards applicable to helmets limit the types of materials that can be used. At its own level, Julbo is committed to offering spare parts to increase the product life cycle and is increasingly utilizing bio-sourced materials in goggles and investigating this possibility in helmets.

What is Rilsan® and how is it being used in Julbo's eyewear?

RILSAN® is a high performance, sustainable, bio-based polymer, used in over 75% of Julbo's sunglasses. Julbo has been using this advanced material for several years because of its environmental qualities and technical benefits. This bio-based material provides key characteristics that are ideal for sunglasses: lightness, flexibility and durability.

Derived from castor beans, RILSAN® is a sustainable material from sustainably farmed feedstock. There is no competition with food/feed production causes no deforestation. Castor beans are grown on low quality soil; the beans are then crushed to make oil, and the remnant material is sold as fertilizer.

Other Julbo FAQs

When are you getting more of X sunglasses or goggles?

If one color is greyed out on our listing, that means it is out of stock currently. Inventory can fluctuate hourly/daily, so check back periodically.

We receive shipments of out-of-stock items every few weeks—in the summer, we receive sunglasses; in the winter, we receive goggles and some sunglasses. Therefore if you're looking for goggles in the summer, you'll want to check back in August or September. You can click the "Notify When Me When Available" button on that specific product's page - this will trigger an email to you once the item is back in stock. For more questions, please email info@julbousa.com.

Where can I find Julbo eyewear locally?

While we do not have Julbo retail stores, we are in a lot of outdoor shops across the U.S. Try our dealer locator to see if there is anything in your area. If you have a local REI, it’s likely to offer the widest selection of our models. Make sure to extend your search radius with the drop-downs if you aren't seeing anything initially. Secondly, we recommend calling your local dealer to find out what models they carry.

Do you offer prodeals?

Any industry pricing we offer is available through Outdoor Prolink and ExpertVoice.
